The following statement is a summary of the provision for guests at Hillcrest22 Guest House.
Before you arrive
Keswick is well served by public transport and the bus station is some 300m from Hillcrest.
Although there is no train station in Keswick the west coast main line has daily services between Glasgow and London stopping at Penrith from where the regular bus service leaves for Keswick.

Arrival & Car Parking
We are situated just off the centre but also on the southern edge of Keswick with superb open views to the lake and fells.
On arrival to the front of the house off The Heads there is an upwardly sloping access path through the garden with steps leading to steps into the house at the front door.
For users of the classroom which is the basement of the house there is access from the front of the house down steps and inside down a flight of stairs with a handrail.
At the rear of the property there are stone flagged steps down to the house level from the car park. The car park and steps have safety rails.
Access to the car park is up a narrow lane behind the adjacent properties and has parking for 3 cars. The car park surface is of stone chippings.
We will always try assist our guests with baggage from the car park or other parking places if there are difficulties.
Main Entrance and Reception
Hillcrest 22 is a Victorian house built over four floors.
Access to the front door is via stone steps followed by the main door and inner door to the reception area. This is well lit as is the outside approach from The Heads, our car park and around the side of the house.
The reception hallway is light and airy and has an original Victorian mosaic tile floor.
For car park users, later evening entrance and direct access to the drying facilities once down the steps from the car park, access is through the slate flagged drying room and a fire door to the reception area.
Breakfast is served in the sitting/dining room with its superb views across to Catbells and Borrowdale and is accessed through an opening glass fire door and is all on one level.
The heating is under floor and a closed door log burner is on one side of the room in the sitting area.
On the ground floor there are two toilets and a bath for those who cannot use the en-suite shower facilities.
We have 8 rooms which can either be used as a double or a twin and are king size.
Bedrooms are situated on the first or second floor and are accessed via a curving wooden railed, carpeted staircase which is original to the house.
Each room has table and drawers, cupboard storage, chairs, bedside lamps and automatic lighting controlled by sensor in the bathrooms.
All rooms have en-suite facilities. All rooms have WiFi and a USB charging facility.
There is central heating in all rooms controlled by a thermostat.
Doors into the rooms are standard widths but the size of the bathrooms vary between rooms.
In the front garden with its wonderful views across to the fells and relaxing feel, outside seating and tables are there for your use on slate or a mosaic patio on differing levels in the garden which has a fine selection of flowering plants and shrubs. Tea, coffee and cakes can be served to you outside on arrival on fine days.
Only a short walk away there are many shops and a supermarket in the town centre to buy most things you have forgotten along with newspapers.
Mobile phone reception is mostly good at Hillcrest as is broadband speed.
The house is fully fire risk assessed and has an integrated fire alarm, smoke and carbon monoxide detection system.
The building is fully non smoking.
No pets although assistance dogs could be accommodated by arrangement.
